January 2024
A new year, a new start
For anyone who hasn’t seen the news, ConwyMC has been whitelisted for a rework and development. ConwyMC had to shut down:
“Well it is simple really, people aren’t really attracted to the concept anymore and with barely to no playerbase at all, it is pretty hard to get it to grow. I myself have also lost my interest in the game mode, I literally have no motivation left to keep developing it. Neither do I have the time for it, as our past plans for the game mode were rather large and would demand a lot of development/testing.”

However, the server’s development was resumed late last year with the announcement of V4. The server was then whitelisted and occasionally opened for testing.
I can’t leak much but there’s some cool things lined up, here’s a few that have been announced:
- More Maps
- Updates to existing maps
- More Kits
- Level Kits
- Boss Bars for flags (also shows if you’re in the capture zone)
- Update to 1.20
- Goat horn sound effects! (They’re awesome and fit well with Castle Siege)
- Better KitGUI (with correct stats this time)
- Removed Battlepoints
I also don’t want to list anything here and it not happen.
Website
While this all happens, the website also needs some work. It needs a revival, fleshing out and updating so that the information is accurate. It was also a lot of work to add something new to the site, so the new setup needs to change that. Every time I did patch notes I was failing to follow a basic programming principle: DRY (Don’t Repeat Yourself).
This has all changed! On other alchemix.dev sites I’ve begun using Svelte to empower how I made websites. There are several frameworks I could have chosen, react being a popular one, but Svelte was suggested by another Alchemix.dev member. The website has now been rewritten significantly and now there are a few more bits of data to transfer but a key element is finding a good theme to match the site with.
But I do hope you’re looking forward to everything coming up, I’m excited to see what you all think!
